So at midnight my phone goes off and of course I’m like “who the crap is calling me at this hour” I find its my dad. He tells me that my brother is in the hospital with appendicitis and is having surgery at seven am and continues to tell me what hospital he’s at.
Not even five mintues after I hang up with my dad and try to go back to sleep since I have work in the morning. My phone rings yet again. This time its my brother.
He called me cuz he’s scared. He’s never had to have surgery. He’s never had to go to the hospital. I am the only one in the family that has that experience, and he called me for that.
Now my brother and I have not had a good relationship our whole lives but this past year we have slowly built it up.
The fact that he thought of me and called me tonight brought me to tears. I mean I just said “I love you” for the frist time to him.
Its not because he’s in the hospital and about to have surgery. Its the fact that he wanted to talk to ME about how I went through my three surgeries.
I now can say my brother has a place in my heart.
